Hi guys,

sorry i havent been active in a while, busy with school and such.

I wanted to make a suggestion about the map set-up but was worried it wouldn't be seen so low down in the comments so ill do it here instead. However, my suggestion is less of a map change, more of a different way of utilising a map. On the old world i always felt the PVP/survival world was quite under developed and looked more like a temp map than a proper CFWR map. So i was thinking it might be cool to turn the map into a PVP/survival/Factions map. Ive tested the Factions plugin out on another server and its really cool,and would be a great way to have more going on in survival, and get more people on there more regularly. I know lots of people enjoyed the war and this would be a cool way to keep up a more permanent version of it. One problem with Factiosn servers is they end up with hundreds of factions all made up of 1 or 2 people, which is just boring, so what I thought we could do is offer faction creating rights as a donators perk, or limit it to a certain group (supers/admins /mods?) anyway, suggestions and criticisms appreciated Smile

I think that if we did do factions we might have to give the rights to admins/supers/mods/ and maybe as a donator perk. problem with admins and supers though is that if Es for example makes an Airforce faction (which I assume he will) the majority of the player base would join his faction just to fly ships in movecraft. So I do think a factions plugin would be pretty sweet we just might need to figure out how to balance maybe.

Definitely, what we can do is limit the number of factions by limiting who can make them like just admins supers and donators, then we can have a faction size limit, by which i mean we can force leaders to do /f close once they reach a certain number, which stops anyone else from joining, also maybe we should run it like we did towns on cfw, in that to start a faction you have to have a certain number of people ready to join so we don't end up with people complaining because they donated but no one wants to join them.

I would love the factions plugin, ive been getting pretty bored with towny, and this could be a cool alternative. Also, i think we really need a bounty plugin for survival because, honestly, the best part of the war was hunting people down for money, lol.

I remember showing Es a bounty plugin for buckit during like the end of the war. He said it looked cool but never had time to implement it i guess. Pretty sure I can find it again if not a better one.

Groups of people all sorted doing different jobs in society such as Miner Warrior and Farmer. But with this we could have Competing groups of Factions to give Warriors a purpose

Lol factions sounds sweet. I think the whole bounty thing was absolutely the best part of the War. And yes, I would make an airforce, but I'd probably implement a rather rigorous entrance examination. Just so... you know, I don't nuke all the other factions to dust in the first week.

As a means of preventing 1-2 player factions, I think one of the key requirements to actually having a faction should be the presence of a well-developed home base with a significant number of players active in it. Basically what I'm envisioning is we dump the players in the world, they gallivant off to found a new glorious civilization, and once they feel it is advanced enough, they do an arcane ritual to summon the Elder Gods to pass judgement on their society, and see whether or not it is worthy of joining the eternal campaign for... pancakes?

And in case you want a study guide, the entrance exam has 5 parts:

Aeronautical Architecture
Bombardier Qualification
Cannoneer Qualification
Advanced Maneuvering Qualification
Carrier Operations Certification

I think we need to combine this with the other War idea me and Es talked about during the bombing of the first war spawn.

In short it was like an in air battle with 2 teams each with a capitol ship of sorts. Basically each team could only have a set number of players on the "field" at once. IE external ships or something. the other team mates would be forced to stay on the capital ship or have to sit out until a timer or round end where they would be allowed to make repairs or something after a certain amount of time. This may or may not work but with some tweaks it could be a pretty sweet war/tournament.

Faction battles would be pretty sweet. Groups of factions living in coexistence then deciding to "expand" which may or may not involve raiding the crap out of someone else. Quite exciting I think.

One thing we might have to look into if doing this (which from the feedback im guessing people want it) is stopping inventories from carrying from the main world to factions world to make things fair, and we'd have to make any faction activity outside the factions map a rule I think.

Well we already have MultiInv, which gives you a different inventory for every world you visit. I don't think that's gonna be that much of an issue.

Sweet, I think we should get it ASAP, after all our update problems are solved of course, and maybe we should perhaps wait a while for faction groups to establish and bases to be built before implementing the plugin.

aww i always used the second world for massive mining operations... now i wont be able to.
u know it was to keep the main all perty without massive strip mines everywhere

Well technically speaking. If you did go do mining operations on other maps you would still gain the money for the mining job. Then when you go back to the main map just go to your friendly neighborhood admin shop and just buy the resources you wanted.
