After watching RoosterTeeth's "Things to do in: Minecraft - Connect 4", I realized how amazingly simple it would be to make that game in Minecraft using redstone!
(They did it manually... noobs.)So that's what I did, I made Connect-Four in Minecraft! This is a 2 player game (Red vs Blue) each of which have access to 7 buttons, 1 for each column. One person drops sand, the other drops gravel. It's as simple as that, and here are some pictures:
Overview7 ButtonsGravel & Sand (With sunset inbetween :O)Game Reset ThingamajigyPlayer's View from StandI will give a link to download this map later (once I found out how to do that). You can just play around or improve the design (I'm suck at redstone, this was made using the simplest of redstone knowledge, and is guaranteed to be horribly inefficient space-wise)
[V.2] I just realized right after posting this there are a few things that needed fixin', so i did it.
-Game board is only 6 blocks high, like it should be
-Sand & Gravel start off higher when game is loaded, ready to play
-Ladders and chests with sand & gravel on each side to reset game w/o creative mode
-Added food chest so you don't starve if you play too long (or you could resort to canabalism)
-Made it puurdier looking
*What I want to add, but don't know how:
>Buttons to place a new block won't work if a column is full
>A score board that can keep count of score, and can be reset
>Less stupidness, more space efficiency
